In 1998-2008, Askold S. Lozynskyj was president of the Ukrainian World Congress. He received his B.A. from Fordham College in 1973, graduated from the Law School of Fordham University in 1976, and received later a doctoral degree in law. In 1977, became a lawyer in the state of New York specializing in property law, commercial transactions, and real estate law. He was an active member of the Ukrainian emigre community in America, including as president of the Organization of Ukrainian Students in America. Recipient of the "Order of Merit" Honorary Award of the President of Ukraine (given to individuals for outstanding achievements in economics, science, culture, military or political spheres of activity).
