Professor of History at the Chair for History of the Eastern Ukrainian Branch of the International Solomon University (Kharkiv). Defended his Ph.D. ("candidate of science" degree) in 2010 at the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (dissertation title: "Military Citizens of the Sloboda Ukraine: Integration to the Imperial Society (1765-1798)"). Held research fellowships at the Institute of History of the Mickiewicz University in Poznan, at University of Cambridge and Harvard University. Main research interests: social and cultural history of Ukraine in 18-19 centuries; nationality studies, theory and history of historiography. Works on research projects that are dedicated to the discussion of social relevance of history in Eastern European and Anglo-American historiographies.
