Mariana Budjeryn is a PhD candidate at the Central European University (CEU) in Budapest, Hungary. She obtained her BA in political science at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine and her MA in international relations and European studies at CEU. She is currently researching her dissertation on nuclear disarmament of Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan after the fall of the Soviet Union. Mariana's academic interests include political and social theory, history of nuclear nonproliferation and disarmament, politics of post-Soviet transition and all things Ukrainian. She is a regular contributor to World Affairs Journal and has published on Ukraine's denuclearization with Woodrow Wilson Center and Arms Control Today.
