Ali Ersen Erol is currently a Professorial Lecturer in the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC. He previously taught at Howard University, where he received his Ph.D. in Culture and Communication in 2013. Erol's research focuses on queer theory, politics of sexuality and gender, as well as critical linguistics. His current book project focuses on queer imaginations of time, space, and affect in the wake of Gezi Park Protests in Turkey in the summer of 2013. His articles were published in the International Journal of Communication, Journal of Language and Social Psychology, Journal of Narrative and Conflict, Unrest, and International Political Anthropology.
