The political parties that were destroyed by the flames of the Euromaidan will not soon spring back to life and begin to compete with the oligarchic groups. The electoral lists that brought accidental fellow travelers to the Rada changed the institutional logic of party development in Ukraine and rendered deputies dependent on the leaders of those electoral lists. A distinguishing characteristic of the 2014 parliamentary campaign was a complete lack of disagreement between the main political parties and, at the same time, a vivid oligarchic media war. The parties could not risk serious clashes between themselves, as they were depending on the votes of the very same electors. The oligarchs emerged from informational darkness and began to rope mass society into their conflicts.
